About John Michael Eden
I\'m a strategic leader who solves problems for my clients using a unique combination of law, counterfactual risk analysis, and first principles thinking. I help my clients in three key areas: fintech and banking regulation; early-stage financing; and fund formation. I shift quickly between high level-strategy and ground-level execution, delivering solutions that address today’s needs while anticipating future demands. I can accomplish this type of rapid adaptation because I learned something early in my career that most lawyers never learn: Instead of running away from risk, the most iconic companies find creative ways of leveraging and benefiting from risk. For these trailblazers, running away from risk is akin to running away from the future. My approach is informed by over a decade in technology and business roles outside of law firms. In these roles, I had to be adaptable in order to solve problems across product management, corporate development, and business modeling. Due to these experiences, I can deliver much more than traditional legal advice, bringing cross-functional insights from fields like game theory, behavioral economics, and systems thinking to bear on the most novel legal challenges. Law is meant to be a tool of business, not an end in itself. For that reason, my role is to help my clients bring about the future - not stand in the way of its arrival.Key Areas of Expertise- Strategic Planning- Business Development & Partnerships- Compliance Strategy & Risk Management- IP Protection & Monetization - Corporate Finance Across the Innovation Lifecycle- Mergers & Acquisitions
