Plastic Surgeon-in-Chief @ Boston Children\'s Hospital As the Plastic Surgeon-in-Chief at Boston Children\'s Hospital for over 17 years, I lead a team of 12 surgeons and 120 staff members in providing world-class surgical care for children with complex craniofacial and reconstructive conditions. I also oversee the Department\'s strategic planning, financial management, and organizational change, ensuring excellence, innovation, and efficiency in our operations and services.In addition to my clinical role, I am a Professor of Surgery and Global Surgery at Harvard Medical School, where I founded the Program in Global Surgery and Social Change. This program aims to improve access, quality, and affordability of surgical care in low- and middle-income countries through research, education, policy, and advocacy. I have also co-chaired the Lancet Commission on Global Surgery, directed the WHO Collaborating Centre for Surgery and Public Health, and served as an Honorary Professorial Fellow at the University of Melbourne. My multidisciplinary credentials in medicine, dentistry, and business enable me to leverage diverse perspectives and skills to address the challenges and opportunities in global surgery.My mission is to lead value-based healthcare and create a culture of integrity, purpose, compassion, stewardship, and service. I believe that by collaborating with diverse stakeholders, leveraging my expertise and experience, and empowering others with a strategic vision, I can positively impact the health and welfare of people and communities worldwide.
