ABOUT JOHN HALL

I am a journalist specialising in visual investigations, open-source intelligence, and video verification. I previously spent 15 years in senior roles at Fleet Street titles. As Editor, Europe, Middle East and Africa, at Storyful (a News Corp business), I run the UK newsroom, managing a team of journalists using open-source intelligence techniques and proprietary tools to uncover and authenticate user-generated footage of internationally newsworthy events. News partners include The New York Times, The Times of London, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, VICE News, Sky News, Al Jazeera, Bloomberg, CBS, ABC News, and many more. Alongside my work as a news journalist, I have created and overseen SEO, audience development, and social media strategies for some of the world\'s largest news brands. I am a data-driven problem solver who understands how digital audiences think, behave, and consume media. For several years now, I have worked as a mentor with the NCTJ Journalism Diversity Fund and News UK\'s Diversity and Inclusion Development Programme.
