About John Mastri

John is a creative technologist working at the intersection of design, engineering, and code.Over the past 18+ years, he has built highly interactive digital experiences, tools, and platforms across advertising, technology, and product. His work combines interaction design, systems thinking, and engineering into cohesive, durable solutions rather than one-off artifacts.This hybrid approach has led to collaborations with brands including Coca-Cola, Samsung, Volkswagen, and the U.S. Army, with work recognized by Cannes Cyber Lions, The One Show, FWA, and London International Awards, and featured in Communication Arts, HOW.NET Magazine, and Applied Arts.While serving as an adjunct professor at CSU Long Beach, John consistently observed a gap between academic instruction and real-world execution. That insight led to the creation of Maestre Arts, an opportunity-focused education studio and artist incubator built around mentorship, accountability, and applied work.In parallel, John runs Mastri Design Engineering, where his product work lives—spanning custom hardware, software, and creative products designed with an emphasis on craft, usability, and long-term viability. This work includes applied AI and machine-learning systems used in product engineering and creative workflows. He consults selectively while focusing on building and documenting his own systems.
