ABOUT JOHN MAGDALUYO

John Magdaluyo, Env. Dip, is a skilled Environmental Site Assessor at Stantec Consulting Ltd. with over nine years of experience in the environmental consulting industry. A graduate of the Environmental Technician Program at Seneca College, John has developed a comprehensive understanding of environmental assessments, including applicable provincial and federal regulations. His expertise spans across a variety of environmental services, offering practical solutions for clients in both the public and private sectors. Throughout his career, John has played a key role in several major environmental projects, showcasing his versatility and ability to manage complex assignments. Notable projects include: Port Hope Radioactive Surveys with PHAI – John contributed to the Port Hope Area Initiative (PHAI) by conducting radioactive surveys across a large area, including 175 road allowances. This task was critical for ensuring public safety and environmental protection in the region. His work involved identifying and assessing potential risks associated with radioactive materials, while ensuring compliance with environmental standards and regulations. Port Credit Brownfield Remedial Excavation – In this project, John’s expertise in remedial excavation was essential for addressing contamination in a former industrial site. He played a central role in overseeing the excavation process and ensuring that proper safety protocols and environmental remediation strategies were followed to return the land to a safe and usable condition. Port Lands Flood Protection and Enabling Infrastructure – John served as a Resident Site Inspector in this project, overseeing daily site activities related to flood protection and infrastructure development in the Port Lands area. His role involved monitoring construction processes, ensuring adherence to environmental regulations, and coordinating between contractors and clients to mitigate potential environmental impacts during the project. John’s diverse skill set includes: Remedial excavation; Phase I & Phase II Environmental Site Assessments; Subcontractor supervision; Emergency spill response; Designated substance surveys; Report writing; and Contractor and client liaison These experiences, combined with his technical knowledge, have allowed John to deliver valuable environmental solutions to clients while ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks.
