About John Madden
I consider being a professional journalist as a way to pick up where my Uncle Larry left off. After reading his work as a newspaper reporter long after he died of cancer, I felt inspired. Inspired to question and challenge things. To seek answers, and to be creative. That has carried over to my career with my shooting, storytelling, and editing skills. I started my journalism career at KREX in Grand Junction, Colorado as an MMJ and Weekend Anchor. I then became the Weekend Anchor at KMTV in Omaha, Nebraska. I\'ve reported, anchored news and sports, produced, coached, and mentored. Now I’m in a full-time management role at KERO in Bakersfield, CA as the Assistant News Director.
