   In 2016, 30% of CCI\'s fleet vehicles were in crashes. Everything from fender benders to a fatality. They instituted a new fleet safety program and since then CCI has averaged 14% of the fleet being in crashes. Last year the number was 11%. They reached out and asked me if I would like to head up the effort to tell that story and bring their solution to other fleets to see if it could work for them. I told them it sounds like a win-win and I would be proud to tell their story and see if we could help other fleets keep their drivers safer. You can\'t solve a problem you don\'t understand. The first part of this solution is to gather data on driver behavior. Feedback is an important part of this solution. This program gives immediate feedback because the longer you wait the less effective that feedback will be. No one likes to \"be held accountable.\" It is impossible to make positive change through negative effects. Holding people accountable doesn\'t result in long term positive change. So, this solution focuses on catching people doing things right and rewarding them for it. And then there is training for everyone with additional training on specific behaviors for people are failing to drive safe. Don\'t punish more, train more. It is exciting to work with Fleet Managers and company leaders and show them how they can keep their drivers safer while increasing net profits through reduced costs associated with traffic accidents. “Protecting employees from motor vehicle crash injuries can be a valuable investment of time and resources,” was the conclusion of a recent study entitled, ‘Cost of Motor Vehicle Crashes to Employers.\' My goal is to help companies keep their drivers safe, and show them how they can save money while doing it so.
