Many procurement veterans have made a career of “doing deals”, “beating down” suppliers and costs, and managing staff. However, it’s more difficult to distill corporate goals into a strategy for procurement & A/P that changes processes, systems, and staff to not only improve operations today, but also transform capabilities and reduce risks in the future. This goal alignment and breadth of scope can deliver a meaningful, and difficult to replicate, competitive edge.
