About John Krotulski
With a strong foundation in IT and software development, I’ve built a career that blends technical expertise with a passion for teaching, problem-solving, and continuous improvement. My background includes hands-on experience with technologies such as Linux, C++, VB, ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node, Python, Crystal Reports, and Qlik. Over the past few years, I’ve shifted toward adopting the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem—including Power BI, SharePoint, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Copilot Studio. For 17 years, I traveled across the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and Central America, implementing software systems, training users in the hospitality industry, and developing tools such as manuals and video tutorials. I handled the full technical lifecycle of installations, from server configuration to SQL-based data manipulation. I’ve earned a reputation as a creative problem-solver and a “SQL superhero” for my ability to find solutions when others hit a wall—always breaking down complex topics in a way others can understand and apply. Today, I serve as Engineering Manager at Cove Communities, where I lead digital transformation projects across three key areas: Data Engineering – Building scalable analytics solutions in Microsoft Fabric with API integrations, PySpark, Medallion and Star Schema architectures, and intuitive, UX-forward reporting. I’ve led data integration projects for systems like RMS Cloud and NetSuite, and recently attended Microsoft FabCon 2025 to stay ahead of the curve. Power Platform Development – Designing low-code apps and workflows, including a Service Request / Work Order system built with Power Apps and SharePoint Lists to streamline operational processes. Intranet & Digital Workplace – Developing a modern, AI-enhanced intranet using SharePoint Hub Sites, Microsoft Copilot, and SPFx with React for intuitive, company-wide engagement. All of this is delivered within an Agile framework, using Azure DevOps for streamlined collaboration and deployment. I’m proud to work alongside a stellar team at Cove—where hospitality and innovation go hand in hand. If you’re not already familiar with Cove Communities, I highly encourage you to check out what we’re building!
