   Perform legal research and prepare correspondence, memoranda of law, opinions and other legal documentation; prepare pleadings, briefs and other legal documents and represent Clerk in courtroom in litigation matters, including foreclosure cases and garnishment actions-Proactively monitor and analyze state and local issues and potential impact on Clerk’s office; follow legislative sessions to ensure legislative changes are captured and procedures updated to reflect any new or amended laws. Maintain current knowledge of legislative trends and regulator developments of interest to Clerk’s office-Conduct legal research relevant to concerns, complaints, legal issues, pending lawsuits and other legal matters on behalf of the Clerk’s office-Coordinate and correspond with outside legal counsel regarding various legal matters and litigation involving the Clerk of Court and Comptroller-Review, negotiate and approve contracts on behalf of Clerk’s office-Evaluate risk and consequence of situations and advise Clerk and senior management team members of possible courses of action-Prepare and coach employees summoned for court on behalf of Clerk’s office-Review tax deed overbid claims and files; issue opinions on tax deed sales and disbursement of tax deed surplus; ensure the preparation, submission, filing and response to legal process, including litigation, involving the Clerk’s office in tax deed surplus matters-Review bail bond forfeiture pleadings; prepare, submit, file and respond to legal process, including litigation, involving the Clerk’s office in bail bond forfeiture, remission and judgment actions-Assist, coordinate and/or review responses to public records requests-Ensure the accuracy of modifications to all Fee Schedules maintained by the Clerk’s office and coordinate the implementation of revisions to Fee Schedules based on legislative changes and adoption of new fees by local county and municipal governments-Review personnel policies.
