ABOUT JOHN FISHER

I am a chartered accountant and have been specialising in forensic accounting since approx 1991.I am a partner in the PwC UK M&A disputes practice. We specialise in assisting clients with issues arising in relation to M&A transactions. We advise clients on price adjustment mechanisms pre- and post- deal completion as well as disputes arising in connection with M&A transactions, such as breach of warranty, W&I or other claims. We assist clients in disputes whether in high court matters, arbitration (international and domestic) mediation and other fora. I have worked on many hundreds of transactions during my career and bring a deep experience of navigating contentious issues in M&A. I have an expert understanding of the deal process including agreement of SPA terms and assessment of working capital targets. I help clients protect or enhance value though post deal price adjustment mechanisms whether that\'s completion accounts, earn-out/deferred consideration, leakage or other mechanisms. Where parties can\'t reach agreement I help them navigate the dispute process whether that is (normally) expert determination or litigation/arbitration. I have acted as independent expert to determine disputes between parties to transactions (expert Determination) on many occasions. I was a member of the committee of the ICAEW\'s forensic and expert witness special interest group and assisted in redrafting the ICAEWs guidance on expert determinations.I have deep experience of the assessment of damages and provision of independent expert evidence. I have acted as expert on a large number of matters across a range of industries in International Arbitration, High Court and other proceedings and have given evidence many times.
