About John Hinojosa
I am a graduate of Texas A&M University School of Law in Fort Worth, Texas. Before law school, I served nine years in the U.S. Army as a Human Resources Non-Commissioned Officer (manager). In 2010, I deployed for 12 months to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Later, I served in the Pentagon as an Executive Administrative Assistant to the Director of the Army Staff, Lieutenant General William Grisoli, and the Vice Chief of Staff, General John F. Campbell. Still later, I served for 12 months in the Republic of Korea on the staff of the Commanding General, Theodore Martin, in support of U.S. and Korean defense operations. After receiving an honorable discharge from the military, I attended and graduated from Texas A&M at the top of my cohort (Summa Cum Laude). I received a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. As a member of First Generation Vets and the Student Veterans of America, I mentored other veterans to successfully transition from the military to academia. Over the summer of 2022, I had the opportunity to intern for Westfall Sellers, a criminal defense firm in Fort Worth. Through that experience, I honed my legal research, writing, and analytical skills. With supervision, I drafted pleadings, responses to summary judgment, and various other motions. I co-authored a paper published by the State Bar of Texas for an Advanced Criminal Law course titled Contemporary Trends in Investigative Detentions. I am very grateful to the attorneys at Westfall Sellers for their invaluable guidance, advice, and exposure to Texas\'s state and federal courts.
