About John Hanacek

John Hanacek is a designer, entrepreneur, artist, and researcher working at the intersection of new forms of computation, creativity, and human augmentation. He has accrued extensive skills and experiences working at cross sections of strategy consulting, Spatial Computing UI/UX design, business development, photography, videography, computer graphics and spatial computing. He obtained a Master of Arts degree from Georgetown University in Communication, Culture & Technology, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from UC San Diego in Political Science. He has first responder experience as a California State Parks Beach Lifeguard. He is an entrepreneur and leader, having cofounded an NGO and two startups and brought products to market. John’s passion and drive is to make ideas tangible, actionable & sustainable and improve billions of lives through technology solutions. John believes that technology can augment human intelligence & collaboration, that optimism and pessimism are self-fulfilling prophecies, and that we can pick our prophecies.

   Pioneering the next interface for scientific inquiry using Spatial Computing. Product design for Spatial Computing. Prototyping in technologies such as Augmented, Mixed, and Virtual Reality. Creating and testing novel interactions (hand-tracking, controller input, voice, etc) to enable scientists to conceptualize atomic structures in ways never before possible.
