ABOUT JOHN G. KOCH

I help business clients maximize their insurance assets and recover from responsible parties when facing a loss or potential liability. My team and I have recovered substantial sums for commercial and HNW policyholders under all manner of coverages, such as commercial property/builder\'s risk and related business interuption, mass environmental and products liabilites, media liability, cyber, E&O, D&O, fiduciary, fidelity/crime, construction, and others. In many instances, I ensure that insurers pay for the defense of my clients when sued.I also recover losses for clients in or defend against commercial contract claims, construction defect issues, and other commercial situations. I leverage my insurance counseling and litigation experience to assist with M&A or other transactions, especially when specialized or contingent liabilities are obstacles to deal closure. In that context, I\'ve negotiated coverage for contingent liability insurance and other specialty coverages, including tax and legacy liabilities. My environmental practice dovetails with my insurance practice. I help clients facing a cleanup responsibility find funds for remediation from both insurers and other responsible parties, including prosecuting (or defending) environmental cleanup contribution and cost recovery actions. I also provide counseling during site remediation, perform due diligence, and assist with risk transfer in transactions involving industrial or contaminated property. Our clients hail from many industries, such as national big box retail, manufacturing, construction and real estate development, hospitality, global food and beverage, shopping centers, property management, airports, communications and entertainment, publishing, financial services, and others.I serve as the firm\'s General Counsel and chair the Environmental and Alternative Energy Practice Group. I am also a frequent lecturer and tapped for speaking engagements all over the country.ADMISSIONS: New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York,U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey,U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado,U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit
