ABOUT JOHN FINCH
I am a Professor of Marketing (business-to-business) at the University of Glasgow. I work at the intersection of academic research, policy and practice, with a focus on delivering public value. I served as Head (Dean) of the Adam Smith Business School (20••••23), leading a period of major growth and change across research, education, resources, partnerships and infrastructure within a triple-accredited context (AACSB / AMBA / EFMD-EQUIS).My research focuses on innovation systems, markets and policy implementation, with particular emphasis on financial innovation and public-sector decision-making. My work has been published in journals including Research Policy, Marketing Theory, Industrial Marketing Management and Journal of Business Research. I am Principal/Lead Investigator on an Innovate UK-funded programme with FinTech Scotland and the University of Strathclyde, and on a British Academy project with Research ICT Africa. I am currently seconded part-time as an Innovation Fellow with the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology, focused on procurement-led innovation. I teach on the Glasgow MBA and have led applied research and knowledge exchange projects funded by the Leverhulme Trust and through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Scottish Water.
