About John Feinberg
In March 2016, I accepted the position of Senior Bioinformatics Programmer at Dicerna Pharmaceuticals. This began an exciting new chapter in my career, helping to design and build an entirely new custom informatics infrastructure. I have continued in this role when Novo Nordisk acquired DIcerna in December 2021.In January 2014, I began working in the Professional Services group as a Senior Solutions Consultant for Acclerys, Inc. Accelrys merged with Dassault Systèmes, and has been redesignated as BIOVIA. I am a consultant developing solutions for BioReg, ChemReg, and the Pipeline Pilot platform.At Roche, I led the informatics efforts for the DNA-enabled libraries team. I designed and implemented custom Pipeline Pilot webport applications in support of the chemistry team workflows. I was also responsible for the data mining of hits in Pipeline Pilot from initial FASTQ sequence data files totalling hundreds of gigabytes. Over the years at Roche I had worked as an in-house programmer for the chemistry department. I was a direct member of the chemistry department, rather than IT, which allowed me to have an excellent understanding of the daily processes of the chemists. My general goal was to generate faster, more elegant, and more automated ways for the chemists to do their work. In order to accomplish this goal, I created many process-based workflows and databases, mainly in Pipeline Pilot.Specialties: Pipeline Pilot, Oracle, SQL, relational database design, HTML, ASP, ISIS/Base, ISIS/Draw
