Establish and optimize VPCs, network firewalls, site to site VPN, VPC peering, routing etc. At Mattel reduced cloud spending by 15%, GCP (10 million), AWS (2million) Azure(2million) Streamlined monitoring and alerting for AWS and GCP cloud. Databases - Query optimization for MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, SQLServer and BigQuery. Storage – Cleanup and rightclassing using automatic management on GCP and AWS, life cycle policies for Azure platform. Compute – Custom scripting for machine rightsizing as native recommendations miss the mark by a large extent. Workloads consolidation into specific regions to make the most of reservation discounts. Recommendations to establish load balancing with autoscaling, migration to GKE and serverless. Implemented security best practices for data protection in object and database storage. Automation using python and bash for various admin activities as well as adhoc requests by other teams. Implementation of high availability and disaster recovery solutions based on RPO and RTO requirements. Migrated workloads from standalone setups to load balanced autoscaling solutions. Provided hands-on support to development teams for debugging errors with application code, network slowness, database queries and Kubernetes. Setup and worked extensively with Apache airflow on Kubernetes clusters. Mentored junior team members one on one and group trainings. Built concise documentation for knowledge base and activity tracking. Provided support to FinOps team by restructuring cloud resources.
