John Everson

About John Everson

Armed with a degree in computer science, I started my professional career as a software developer and database administrator until I learned about data networking, which introduced me to e-mail, X.500 Directories, Public Key Cryptography and eventually information security at Sprint. In the early I took a small break from information security and spent a few years working on wireless engineering and other new technology/services. In 2010 I left Sprint to build the information security program at Dish Network, a Fortune 200 company. In 2015 I officially became the CISO at Dish Network (which included Sling TV). At the end of 2017 I left DISH to establish an information security program at Afiniti, a global start up company that is focused on Artificial Intelligence. In 2021, my responsibilities at Afiniti were expanded to include physical security oversight as well as information security as Afiniti\'s CSO.
