Review applicable local code requirements relative to the proposed use, occupancy, and commodities storage of warehouse facilities. • Perform water supply investigations and analysis to determine whether the public water supply will have adequate capacity and reliability to serve as the fire protection water supply for projects. • Perform hydraulic calculations necessary for determining the size and configuration of private underground fire service mains and appurtenances to allow for the most economical interior fire sprinkler design. • Prepare construction documents consisting of performance specifications and criteria drawings of the interior fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA 13, 20, 24, 72, and 101, as well as local jurisdictional requirements. • Review shop submittals for the fire sprinkler systems (including underground fire service mains, fire pump equipment and water storage tanks) and fire alarm systems for general conformance to the contract documents and applicable codes and standards. • Conduct sprinkler system installation reviews to observe installation methods, check clearances to the structure and obstructions, and generally ensure conformance to the approved shop drawings, contract documents and applicable codes and standards. • Witness fire sprinkler, fire pump and fire alarm acceptance testing.
