ABOUT JOHN COLDRICK
I’m a Geomatics professional with 15+ years of industry experience. My career has focused on helping people get the job done as a technical support specialist, and transferring knowledge as a technical trainer/author. I have written well over 200 technical guides for customers of Leica Geosystems, Topcon, SOKKIA, Nikon, and Trimble products. I very much enjoy technical writing. Until recently I provided technical support to Geomatics field crews (GNSS and robotic total station users) ensuring they are being the most productive. I authored over 60 technical support guides supporting the company’s standards and procedures. I trained new users on using their field equipment, and how to follow company policies and standards. I took on additional responsibilities such as maintaining/managing a real-time GNSS network, managing a technical resource library, and updating the company’s Intranet. Colleagues know me as a Geomatics technical expert who can explain difficult concepts in a way they can easily understand. I have received praise for my technical guides as being clear, precise, and very helpful. My training evaluations were always exemplary. I can work well alone, or in a team environment as I enjoy collaborating with others. As a former software Product Manager in an agile development team, I very much enjoyed improving the user’s experience, and being responsible for managing the release of world-class Geomatics data collection products. I have a degree in Surveying Engineering (now titled Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering) from the University of New Brunswick.
