About John Cassinelli

John is the President/CEO of Cassinelli Landscaping & Construction. He has over 40 years experience in the Landscape Industry, starting out as a laborer in the maintenance division of the family business in 1984 and worked up to a Foreman position. He obtained his State Contractor\'s License in 1993, and eventually took over the Company in 1995. He is a Landscape Industry Certified Business Manager (CLP) through the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP), Certified Irrigation Auditor through Irrigator Tech school, Certified Backflow Assembly Tester through the American Waterworks Association (AWWA), Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper (QWEL), Certified Paver Installer through the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI), Certified Segmental Block Retaining Wall Installer through National Concrete Masonry Association (NCMA), Master Certification in Business, Project Management, Concrete Construction Management, and Concrete Fundamentals from American Concrete Institute (ACI), ACI Certified Concrete Flatwork Associate, ACI Certified Advanced Concrete Finisher, Nevada State Licensed Contractor, Nevada State Licensed Nurseryman, and Nevada State Licensed Pest Control Operator. Cassinelli has completed many notable projects throughout Northern Nevada including public parks, cemeteries, courthouses, Post Office, museum, and more. Cassinelli employs a seasonal staff of 10-30 personnel. A fifth-generation Nevadan, husband and father, John served as President of the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce from 20••••24, served as 2024 President on the Board of Directors of Boys & Girls Club of Mason Valley, Past President and Director of the Nevada Builders Alliance and current Chairman of the NBA Leadership Council, former Vice-Chair of the Dayton Regional Citizens Advisory Board, former Vice-Chair of the Lyon County Planning Commission, served four years on the Comstock Historic District Commission, and is a volunteer and past VP of Dayton Township Kiwanis. John was elected Lyon County Commissioner in 2024. He also serves on the boards of Carson Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO), the Dayton Valley Conservation District, and as Executive Director of the Northern Nevada Development Authority (NNDA).Specialties include complete Landscape Installation, Commercial Grounds Maintenance, Irrigation Systems, Hardscape, Concrete, Curbing, Pavers, Retaining Walls, as well as excavation, grading, demolition, underground utilities for Residential, Commercial and Municipal.
