ABOUT JOHN BROWN

I help companies discover, evaluate and bring to market immersive technologies – from XR and LED to motion capture and virtual production. With nearly a decade of hands-on experience across the full stack – engineering, consulting, and technical sales – I bridge the gap between what’s technically possible and what’s commercially viable.What sets me apart- Deep technical expertise in XR, dvLED systems, motion capture (OptiTrack) and virtual production – not just from spec sheets, but from building, installing and operating these systems myself- A personal network of LED and display manufacturers in China, built through years of on-the-ground visits, evaluations and partnerships. I understand both sides of the East-West supply chain- Proven sales track record: As the sole DACH representative for OptiTrack, I generated €2.2–2.5M in annual revenue and set a company record in my first year- A native English and German speaker (grew up bilingual) who presents confidently to C-level audiences and international partners- Technology scouting and market intelligence that goes beyond desk research – I visit factories, test products, analyse trends and translate findings into actionable strategy- I’m currently exploring new opportunities where I can combine innovation leadership with real commercial impact – in roles like Business Development, Technology Scouting, Innovation Management or technical leadership within immersive technology companies.Outside of work, I’m a lifelong musician (guitar, vocals, piano) who grew up on tour with a singer-songwriter father. I co-founded the Mooswies Music Association to promote culture in rural communities, sing in a gospel choir, and play in a cover band.
