The entirety of my professional career has centered around quality and quality improvement with software quality assurance being the predominant focus over the past 25+ years. Regarding SQA specifically, I\'ve performed as a direct contributor, a team lead, a manager, a senior manager, and a director. Some of the basic tenets of software quality I embrace and advocate include:* Pursue and strive for defect prevention over defect detection *\'QA\' is a noun, not a verb * If you can\'t measure it you can\'t improve it * Metrics and automation are tools, not silver bullets * An SDLC is only as effective as its stakeholders\' investment in it I\'m a Very Hi I, Moderate C on DiSC so I thrive on teamwork, collaboration, enthusiasm, analytics, interaction, mentoring, maturity, process, repeatability, ensuring a positive work culture and environment, providing constant feedback and reinforcement, and being dependable. I\'m at my best when I\'m part of an organization/department/team that values and espouses these same qualities and characteristics. My leadership style is tailored to the individuals I manage. I seek to determine the drivers and motivators of each then align my communication and direction accordingly. I\'m comfortable mentoring, directing, and/or delegating depending on the individual. Similarly, managing me is most effectively achieved when done so in a personal, collaborative, goals-based manner.
