About Johnathan Lee
I have 19 years of operations management and leadership experience, actively building high-performing teams that excel when solving complex problems. I am an active, engaged, right-brained extrovert, who has developed a unique global perspective through immersive experiences throughout the world. Throughout my military career, I have been recognized for producing exceptional results during some of our nation’s most consequential moments in recent history. Unique experiences include: Special Operations Staff Officer (2022-Present); Intelligence Officer on the Army Staff, Pentagon (20••••21); Chief of Staff/2nd in Command of a Rocket Artillery Unit on the Korean DMZ during a period of deteriorating US-DPRK relations (20••••18); Detachment Commander of a specialized unit deployed to SW Asia during the Arab Spring and early stages of the Syrian Civil War (20••••13); Asset Integration Officer in Afghanistan at the peak of the Afghanistan War (20••••10); Tactical unit leader in Baghdad during the peak of the post-invasion Iraq War (20••••08). Asia-focused. I have committed over 18 years of my career deliberately focused on Asia, including 5 ½ years of cultural immersion while living on the continent. I maintain a working knowledge of US policy, relations, and security partnerships throughout the continent, with additional individual study directed towards historical, anthropological, and cultural research focused on Northeast and Central Asia. I will retire from military service in early 2025. I am eagerly exploring future private sector employment possibilities that will provide me with an opportunity to contribute towards the development of solutions to exceptionally challenging problems. I am interested in: North America-Asia Economic Development. Maximization of operational efficiency; process optimization. Decarbonization. Introduction and adoption of economically viable alternative energy technologies.
