As the Vice President of Internal Audit and the Head of Americas at Olympus, I lead a global team of professionals who are responsible for redesigning the internal audit function, aligning it with the strategic goals and initiatives of the executive committee and the board of directors. With over 20 years of experience in finance, accounting, and auditing, I have acquired and maintained extensive knowledge of the company\'s operations, business units, markets, policies, and governance practices across five regions.I am passionate about delivering independent and objective evaluations of the company\'s financial, operational, risk management, information technology, and compliance control environment. I partner with executive leadership, legal, compliance, and operations to design and execute the annual audit plan, ensure the appropriate controls and processes are in place, and provide recommendations for improvement. I also direct the scope, methodology, and work plan of audits, consultations, JSOX assessments, and other advisory projects, covering topics such as restructuring, mergers and integration, information technology, and supply chain. I am skilled at executive communication and well versed in addressing the board of directors and the audit committee.

   Responsibilities include the redesigning of the Global internal Audit function to create one centralized audit plan for all five (5) regions based on alignment with Olympus top 30 executives and Global Board Members. Tasked with developing the functions capabilities in line with the long-term strategic goals of the organizations and key initiative of the Global Executive Committee (GEC). This involves evaluating, managing, and leading talent within the five (5) regions and managing resources for the department’s global initiatives. In this role I am required to help develop new pillars within Internal Audit (Global IT, Supply Chain Management, Global Distributors, shared service function, etc.) that serve Olympus holistically instead of the current regional design as Olympus Internal Audit transitions from predominantly a risk-based function assisting individual regions to one that can consistently add value to the global organization.Key Function/Personnel Supported: In this role I support the GEC, Audit Committee and C-Suite management in carrying out initiatives from a risk and value-added standpoint and to develop and implement action plans to improve overall Olympus governance. This role requires both experience and adaptability in executing interdisciplinary large-scale projects across multiple regions and functions. My overall responsibility is to lead each regions’ internal audit team in the execution of the global audit plan with the help of approximately 70 members (15 direct reports and 55 indirect) and ensure risk is adequately addressed both within every region and globally.
