ABOUT JOHN A. COLEMAN

Senior legal and business executive and international diplomat with extensive experience in managing one of Canada’s leading law firms during a period of significant growth that led to a series of mergers that transformed the Canadian and global legal landscape. A Rhodes Scholar, he spent a major portion of his career practising employment and labour litigation primarily in the federally regulated sectors of transportation and banking before serving as National Manager Partner at Norton Rose Fulbright. Recognized as a forward-thinking leader who grew the firm from 400 lawyers to becoming a top-three law firm in Canada, as well as a top-10 globally (US$2B revenue, 3,800 lawyers, 55 offices). More recently, as Quebec’s Agent General for Quebec in London, he represented Quebec’s economic, cultural, political and scientific interests in the U.K, Ireland and the Nordic countries.Recognized for his humanistic qualities, he has been an active member of the community having served on a number of philanthropic organizations and foundations.
