About John Walters

I have been very lucky to have enjoyed the incredible field of Law Enforcement over the last 30 + years. Never did I think that after showing up to the Police Academy, in January of ’83, I would still be here as excited and in love with catching bad guys, and gals, as I was that day.I have been blessed with the opportunities, over the years, to have gained an array of knowledge in several different security disciplines such as Aviation, Maritime, and Regulatory Compliance. While I was a police officer I was given the opportunity to be a part of several special teams. I worked in Major Narcotic Investigations where I learned the art of undercover and surveillance operations, from the land or air. I was a Medic on our Tactical Response Team and also managed all equipment including incendiary devices and grenades. My ultimate assignment, while still with the Police Department, was with Air Support. I think it would be a tough challenge for anyone to try and compare their favorite assignment with being able to fly a jet helicopter around South Central Los Angeles, about 100 feet off the ground, chasing bad guys at 120 knots. While with the Government, I had the responsibility to oversee CFATS and TWIC which established me as a recognized expert in CFATS and TWIC compliance.I have been an advisor with the InterPortPolice for the past several years. As part of this role, I have been able to work with Secretary General Grant and establish our non-profit, the Morrone Center for Counterterrorism and Security. I have had the honor of being a part of the Annual Morrone 9/11 Awards where individuals all over the world are recognized for their bravery, selfless acts, and continued efforts in the fight against terrorism.I have been incredibly blessed with all of these opportunities over the years.
