   Mr. Scott has been a litigator for over 33 years, first in Washington, D.C. and then in his hometown of Birmingham. He has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in Commercial Litigation since 2009, listed in Chambers USA Guide: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business as one of Alabama’s leading lawyers in Commercial Litigation since 2008, and selected for inclusion in Alabama Super Lawyers published by Law & Politics since 2008.Mr. Scott is also a member of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel.Mr. Scott, a native of Alabama, began his legal career in Washington, D.C. as an associate with several large national law firms, before returning to his hometown of Birmingham, Alabama, to develop a litigation practice in his home state. His experience in Washington, which focused on high-stakes insurance and reinsurance coverage disputes and other complex litigation, provided an early, sophisticated framework for the substantial litigation practice in which he is now engaged. Since returning to Alabama in 1995, Mr. Scott has defended businesses in many important class and individual lawsuits. He has extensive expertise in commercial litigation, environmental and toxic tort litigation, professional liability litigation, and insurance coverage litigation.
