About John W. Rochefort
About me:I have spent my entire professional career advising and investing in family and founder-owned businesses in the middle market. Spending the first chapters of my career in investment banking and private equity and working with over different businesses has cemented my passion for growing founder-owned companies.Born and raised in Orange County, California, I spent my formative years surfing and working in surfboard factories, eventually launching my own brand. Designing and manufacturing surfboards for a living led me to contract with distributors in Asia, Europe, and both the East and West Coast domestic markets. The experience of running a business at a young age fundamentally shifted my mindset to building equity value through growth, culture, product differentiation, and service, which led me to a career in private equity investing. I graduated from Pitzer College with an B.A. in Economics. While at the Claremont Colleges, I was a Claremont McKenna College Robert Day Scholar.
