A number of contract roles, the most notable of which with Outer Labs, based in Silicon Valley, disrupting how commercial real estate is designed and delivered with an innovative, generative design product. Working with a client who is a global technology leader and genuine worldwide household name, my role on this project was pivotal design lead inside a core internal team, augmented by a wide-ranging network of cross-functional consultants and users (two high profile architectural firms were engaged to sandbox all application updates and new features). A single product build comprising of four distinct but related applications focusing on project and site definition; design testing and configuration; interior design and fit-out; and generating a library of design templates. My engagement required involvement at each stack of the design process: roadmapping; user/product flows and journey mapping; full design build incorporating wireframing, high-fidelity mock-ups, managing and incorporating multi-channel feedback, prototyping; constant and comprehensive user testing determining iteration on each component part of the product; working closely with the development team to ensure all signed-off design work is faithfully carried into implementation, including generating all necessary guidelines and documentation. Achieve simplicity, elegance and slick functionality in the product experience in a domain characterised by complexity and nuance. Deploying the client’s comprehensive, globally-renowned design system throughout the product, and ensuring all guidelines and standards of that system were maintained. Adapting and maintaining the style and component libraries as required. Full product branding including iconography, color system, landing pages and messaging. Leading the migration from the Sketch/Zeplin/Abstract workflow to consolidate all design and prototyping work in Figma. This included generating introduction videos and documentation.
