ABOUT JOHN U.

I have seven years of experience as an engineering manager, five years as an application engineer, fourteen years as a manufacturing engineer, two years in industrial maintenance, and nine years of concurrent experience in continual improvement and quality engineering. I have supervised production and quality departments and coordinated the attainment and maintenance of ISO 9001, ISO and IATF 16949 certifications at three employers. In my roles, I was exposed to diverse practices within various companies across the automotive, aerospace, and industrial sectors. Moreover, this workplace variation helped shape and strengthen my background in the processes and techniques used by my employers. My design experience includes applying various 3D modeling programs to craft, modify, and conceptualize production tooling and equipment. From a manufacturing standpoint, I have experience in electromechanical controls, machine building, welding and fabrication, stamping and machining, as well as 3D printing. As an application engineer, I evaluated applications using kinematic analysis and AutoCAD. Moreover, in my subsequent positions, I utilized project management tools, including Microsoft Project, Excel, Access, Power Apps, and other systems, to streamline project workflows and facilitate the timely implementation of ideas. My certifications/training and experience include Lean Six Sigma, value stream mapping, QCPC, RRCA, 8D, 3P, Kaizen, 6S, PPAP, Standard Work, MFA, FMEA, EH & S, HAZWOPER, RCRA, and DOT. From a quality perspective, I utilized Minitab to support studies and submittals that included PPAP, capability studies, DOE, and MSA. I also served as a lead auditor for IATF 16949 and ISO
