As Chief of Police, I lead interdisciplinary teams that work collaboratively to respond to safety and security issues on all ASU controlled properties around the globe, in an effort to provide a safe and secure environment for the ASU community, including through integral partnerships with federal and local city departments. The ASU Police Department’s capabilities go beyond patrol, including- Criminal investigations Bureau- Special Victims Unit- Threat Mitigation Unit- Special Operations Unit- Events Management - School Resource Officers in two ASU Prep Academy K-12 schools- Communications Bureau / 911 answering point- Records and Evidence Bureau - Real-Time Analysis Center - provides timely and accurate intelligence obtained from a variety of technologies, including camera systems, information on suspects from CJI databases, and other relevant crime analysis practices- Crime Prevention Programs; conducts site assessments and training- Clery Act Compliance- Accreditation Compliance Previous assignments include- Assistant Chief of Police • Operations Division (included Patrol Services, Real-Time Analysis Center, Crime Prevention Programs, and Office of Strategy and Innovation)- Patrol Commander • Downtown Phoenix Campus • Tempe Campus • Support Services Division- Sergeant • Investigation\'s Bureau • Patrol Sergeant • Downtown Phoenix Campus • Tempe Campus • West Valley Campus- Instructor at the Arizona Law Enforcement Academy and for various other classes during annual in-service training- Detective/Corporal, lead investigator on a wide spectrum of criminal cases and processed crime scenes (including but not limited to death investigations, aggravated assaults, armed robberies, burglaries, sex crimes and racketeering cases).
