About John Stetson
John B. Stetson, Jr. is a Lockheed Martin Senior Technical Fellow having worked in aerospace system research and development for 28 years. He has 31 issued and pending US patents with a particular strength of John\'s being the diversity and creativity of these innovations. John is considered a corporate resource for developing, understanding and comminicating very complicated subjects and disruptive inventions in a comphrehensible way. He is an active mentor of 16 young and mid-career engineers and scientists for over 8 years, and have each of them developed at least one invention of thier own.John\'s essential focus is conception, demonstration, patenting and mechanization of franchise platform technologies for Lockhed Martin Corporation. He has succeeded in delivering 3 such technologies: Perforated graphene for membrane applications, hyper sensitive magnetomtery and aspects of phenomenology based discrimination methods for missile defense. He is a 1979 Swarthmore College Engineering graduate, with the MSEE (1986) in mechanical engineering and applied mathematics, and has completed courses toward the PhD from Temple University in Philadelphia in control systems theory. John’s interests include gardening, device physics, quantum physics, physical phenomenology, Bio-material systems and Bluegrass & Jazz Music. He is a happy husband to Patty and father of 5 children.

Selected as one of 48 technical leaders (0.075%) from LM\'s technical community. Developed, with a small team, the guidance, navigation and control aspect of the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense system. As a result, I received the 2007 US Navy A.E. Michaelson Citizen scientist of the year award. This system is deployed, operational and is successful with 26 of 28 ballistic missile test intercepts. Developed 31 US Patents over a 27 year career most recently in nano and metameterial applications to flow and control devices.
