ABOUT JOHN SPUHLER

John Spuhler has been addressing the needs of businesses, both large and small, for over three decades. In 2021, he co-founded Symliv LLC, which offers cloud-based solutions for managing guests, vendors, and residents while integrating access controls with learning management software. Previously, in 2015, John established Bear Cloud Software LLC, known as STR Helper Software, which was honored as Utah\'s SBA High Tech Business of the Year in 2018. This venture was later acquired by Granicus Host Compliance in February 2019, where it has since become the leading software service for short-term rental licensing, discovery, and tax compliance for government entities and business intelligence companies focused on tourism. John now provides consultancy services to Granicus, aiding some of the largest short-term rental communities worldwide.In he launched @Lightspeed/Fortrust Data Center in downtown Denver, Colorado, which at the time was the largest data center west of the Mississippi, covering square feet, and was later acquired by Iron Mountain. By 2004, John had taken on the role of Vice President of Operations at One Connect IP, where he was instrumental in delivering cloud computing services like VoIP, data backup, and content delivery over broadband to over customers and numerous organizations across the Rocky Mountain West.In 2007, John and his wife decided to relocate to their second home on the shores of Bear Lake in Garden City, Utah. There, he served as mayor from 2010 to 2018. In 2019, they ventured into hospitality by developing Oso Blu, a glamping resort on 12 acres, featuring the largest luxury yurts in North America.He has also held significant roles on various boards, notably as the past chairman of the Bear River Association of Governments. John has been married for thirty-seven years, has three sons, and eight grandchildren. He grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he attended Sandia High School, followed by studies at The University of New Mexico and New Mexico State University.
