ABOUT JOHN SCOTT

With over fifteen years of experience in the oil and gas industry, I am a driven drilling engineer who strives to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective solutions for complex drilling challenges. I have a strong background in drilling operations and product development. As a drilling engineer at Chord Energy, I am proud to be part of a team that values innovation, collaboration, and accountability, and that leverages cutting-edge technology and data-driven insights to optimize drilling performance in a safety first culture.In my current role, I am responsible for planning, designing, and executing drilling programs for the Williston Basin, with a focus on horizontal wells. I work closely with the engineering, geoscience, and operations teams to ensure that the drilling objectives are met and that the risks are mitigated. I also provide technical support and guidance to the field personnel, contractors, and vendors, and monitor the drilling operations and performance. Some of the skills that I use and improve on a daily basis include problem solving, communication, project management, and analytical thinking. I enjoy the dynamic and challenging nature of my work, and I am always eager to learn new skills and technologies that can enhance my capabilities and contributions.
