   Serve as CEO of the Caregiver Action Network (CAN). CAN is the nation’s leading family caregiver organization working to improve the quality of life for the more than 90 million Americans who care for loved ones with chronic conditions, disabilities, disease, or the frailties of old age. CAN (formerly the National Family Caregivers Association) is a non-profit organization providing education, peer support, and resources to family caregivers across the country free of charge. Represent family caregivers on health care issues with the Congress, the White House, the Administration on Aging, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and other government agencies. • Revamped and resuscitated a 19 year-old non-profit association, stabilizing its finances, governance structure, and outside support.• Managed founder transition and strategically repositioned the organization\'s mission to be the preeminent national voice for caregivers. • Successfully rebranded the National Family Caregivers Association as the Caregiver Action Network with a new name, new logo, new website, and new e-newsletter in under 6 months. • Tripled the association\'s budget in three years; paid its outstanding accounts payable; and developed a forward-looking strategic action plan.
