ABOUT JOHN SALMAN

John has been involved in the security industry since 1979, beginning his career with Wormald Security, where he remained employed until 1996. During this time, he developed extensive expertise across all aspects of security services.His broad industry experience includes service, installation, sales, and control room operations. John has also held supervisory and leadership roles as a security trainer, consultant, and National Projects Manager for multi-site organisations. He has successfully managed the implementation of national security programs for several leading petroleum industry companies and has been involved in numerous large-scale commercial security projects.In 1996, John Salman and John Harriss founded Sound Security. Over the next decade, they built the company into a nationally operating business with a significant client base across Australia. As Managing Director, John was responsible for overseeing security contracts, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring the financial performance and profitability of the company.In December 2005, Sound Security was sold to Diebold. Following the acquisition, John continued with the company as Victorian State Manager, a role he held until 2008.After leaving Diebold, John established SE Security, where he served as Operations Manager. In this role, he oversaw the day-to-day operations of the business, successfully applying the leadership and operational experience he had developed during his time at Sound Security.John sold SE Security in 2022 and took a short break from the industry. In 2025, he returned to the security sector and is now employed with Insight Security Group.John holds a Certificate in Electronics and remains committed to keeping up to date with the latest security technologies and industry developments.
