Chief of Special Operations Division, overseeing Aero Bureau; primary mission aerial reconnaissance, surveillance, search and rescue, prisoner transport and ground unit support. Emergency Operations Bureau; coordinates Department\'s preparation and response to large-scale emergencies, disasters, and complex events, which includes the Department Operation Center, Tactical Planning Unit; and Sheriff\'s Response Teams. Criminal Intelligence Bureau whose goal is to more efficiently address the myriad of continuing and emerging threats surrounding 21st century policing. CIB seeks to better connect investigators, analysts, supervisors, and command staff with the information and intelligence to operate more effectively.Chief of North Patrol Division, overseeing Lancaster, Palmdale, Santa Clarita, Malibu/Lost Hills, and West Hollywood Sheriff\'s Stations. Including policing for Universal Studios/City Walk and Magic Mountain Amusement Park. Additionally oversight of Settlement Agreement with U.S. Department of Justice for the Antelope Valley An Operational Budget $186 million with over 1,160 sworn and professional staff and serving a population of residents in 2,200 square miles of Los Angeles County.

John Benedict is an independent consultant after retiring as a Chief from the the Los Angeles County Sheriff\'s Department, the second largest law enforcement policing agency in the United States. Retired Chief Benedict has over 37 years of law enforcement experience in Patrol Operations, Jail Operations, and Court Operations, His last assignment was Chief of the Special Operations Division which is comprised of Aero Bureau, Emergency Operations Bureau, Special Enforcement Bureau (SWAT), Transit Services Bureau, Metrolink Bureau, Criminal Intelligence Bureau and Reserve Forces Bureau.
