ABOUT JOHN ROXBY
Currently I am self-employed and happily working as a contractor in the Aerospace Industry. This is a fascinating industry to work in, with finished product worth hundreds of millions of pounds each, made up of components that range from fitting in the palm of your hand, to enormous engines. My role in this is Delivery Assurance, which involves working with buyers, operations personnel (QA, Engineers, Ops Mgrs) and CI professionals to remove obstacles that are hindering delivery and are causing backlog to MRP. Previously, I have 20+ years of Operational Management experience within steel warehousing and distribution, managing both large and small businesses, sometimes several sites at the same time. I have led or been involved in numerous Projects, ranging from introducing 5S and basic CI to the employees, opening and closing entire sites, and installing OHTC and other machinery across 20 steel businesses. This has given me invaluable experience in leading change and solving problems on all levels, with H&S always at the forefront of everything I have done. Manning levels have ranged from 20 employees to approximately 75, including Team Leaders, H&S, engineers and contractors, with typical Operational Management responsibilities being H&S, CI, PM, transport & supply chain, and all areas of man-management (training, recruitment, disciplinary, productivity etc).These achievements are down to my strong personal commitment, down-to-earth leadership style, and a positive can-do attitude. A DISC behavioural evaluation shows me to be a good problem solver, loyal to people and ideals, and an excellent team player. I also hold an MBA (distinction), a NEBOSH National General Certificate, a CPC, QMS Lead auditor, a Lean Six Sigma Foundation Green Belt course and on-line training in Lean Manufacturing Techniques.
