Gilbane Rising Contractors was launched nationally in October 2020 to train and mentor small and medium construction contractors owned by minorities, women, veterans, LGBT or someone otherwise disadvantaged. The program currently consists of twelve 2-hour classes followed by matching with a Gilbane project mentor from the field. The program has seen six successful cohorts to date, graduating over 300 participants and growing to incorporate Business Units across seven regions. The major focus of the program is providing opportunities that result in a connection to meaningful, right-sized work. We are looking to both improve and expand the program while ensuring quality and consistency across the different regions.
