ABOUT JOHN RAGONESE

On September 30, 2024 I retired as a full-time industry professional; with the the lasts years with Great River Hydro, LLC managing FERC Licensing and Compliance on the Connecticut and Deerfield River hydro developments. My career out of college began as a Professional Forester and Land Manager in the public and private sectors - in Montana/Idaho as well as the Northeast. Began my electric industry career managing almost acres of land surrounding hydroelectric projects, and vegetation management associated with miles of transmission and distribution lines in NH, VT and parts of W. MA. Eventually chose hydro as my direction and began to focus on hydro licensing and compliance. Also, I have broad knowledge and experience with FERC requirements associated with dam safety, public safety, emergency action planning, public use and recreation, hydrologic modelling and environmental study design and management. In my 41+ years relicensing hydropower, I have found creative solutions through engagement with stakeholders; listening and learning from them; teaching and sharing information with them; and thinking outside of the \"conventional box\". Good science and analysis helps too!
