ABOUT JOHN QUINTO
I\'m currently an AI Specialist with Mission Control, helping to develop onboard AI for spacecraft and lunar missions. I graduated with an MASc in computer engineering + AI from the University of Guelph, and a BASc from the University of Waterloo’s Biomedical Engineering co-op program. My Master\'s work revolved around automated biodiversity monitoring, including fine-tuning instance segmentation and vision-language models to identify small arthropods. I\'ve worked several data science roles, including a ML Developer at Kinaxis, Data Scientist at Intact Financial, Data Science Software Developer at Neuralogix and a Data Scientist at Environment and Climate Change Canada. I am a recipient of the Vector Scholarship in AI (20••••24) and the Queen Elizabeth II Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology (20••••25).
