ABOUT JOHN PORTEOUS

I am a highly motivated, competent and effective FS Leader and Consulting Practitioner with over 30 years relevant experience. I am someone who enjoys shaping and delivering strategic Business and Technology outcomes and building strong partnerships and successful teams. I have extensive experience in most aspects of Business and Technology Change Delivery, Programme & Projects Management, Operations Transformation, Outsourcing, Contracts & Commercial Management, Regulatory Compliance, Post-Merger Integration, Divestment, Migration, Cost Optimisation and Deal Value Creation. This experience has been gained mainly from working client side with a number of high-profile financial services organisations in the Retail & Commercial Banking, Insurance and Investment Management sectors. I have worked as a Practice Director with one of the big 4 Consultancies, having also previously held a similar role with one of the leading Global Consulting, Digital Transformation, Technology & Engineering Professional Service Providers. In addition to furthering my experience in Operations Transformation, Business & Technology Strategy, Account Management and Business Development, both of these roles allowed me to broaden and deepen my Industry Knowledge and Thought Leadership. I also have recent experience of working with Private Equity funded businesses. I am an excellent communicator with a proven ability to influence and shape client solutions and outcomes. I am known and recognised for my ability to create and nurture longstanding valued peer relationships with my clients, with my teams and with my competitors alike. I am objective, practical and pragmatic in my approach to shaping and delivering client solutions, which I achieve mainly through a collaborative, inclusive and engaging working style. As a life-long learner myself, I also believe passionately in helping others to grow and develop and to realise their fuller capability and potential.
