I love problem solving. I have always love it, and that love has pushed into my work life as well as my home life. It pushed me to become an engineer, but it also pushed me to get into hobbies where problem solving is required such as rock climbing, scuba diving, and taking cars to the race track. Anything that feels like a puzzle is something that I am interested in, whether that be solving an issue with one of my test rigs at work, or figuring out how I am going to get up a foot rock wall.I use this love at Garrett to help build or change test plans, create new fixturing, create new or modify existing test rigs to solve issues that we are facing at work. Another thing that comes with loving problem solving, is the need to learn new things constantly. This affects my work by learning new ways to test things, learning new ways to design parts, learning how things work on a broad scale, and learning how things work on a micro scale. It affects my hobbies in the same way - for rock climbing, I am constantly learning new knots, and new methods to be able to do things such as releasing a tensioned rope, lowering a climber who has gotten hurt, ascending up to somewhere that I am not able to climb to with just my hands and feet, etc.
