ABOUT JOHN-PAUL PRAKASH
John-Paul joined the WWA family in 2006 holding a bachelor’s in Psychology, in addition to a Master of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis in Marital Family Therapy. He initially became interested in early intervention for children with autism and other pervasive developmental disorders while working as an elementary school counselor. During his time as a counselor, John-Paul noticed that there was a lack of adequate support and trained specialists to help children and their families with special needs. He held a strong aspiration to gain the skills, experience, and knowledge to become a professional practitioner in the field of autism and joined WWA in order to be part of a well-established institution designed to nurture the growth and potential of every child.John-Paul enjoyed and excelled in providing behavioral services and treatments for children, adolescents, and adults in the school and home environments. During his time with WWA, he has gained comprehensive experiences implementing treatment plans as a direct interventionist and designing treatment plans as a Case Supervisor. He learned that anyone could succeed when given the correct support systems and teaching methodologies. John-Paul held a robust desire to provide his clients with the most effective evidenced based treatments, and therefore obtained his BCBA coursework in 2010, and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2011.As the current BCBA Services Director, John-Paul is extremely passionate and committed in assisting all WWA clinical staff in developing individualized treatment plans using Applied Behavior Analysis to teach skills of social significance for all clients. All WWA treatment programs are created specifically to the unique needs of each individual and family to promote effective and socially significant services that meet the satisfaction of each family. In addition, his MFT background enhances his ability to genuinely understand parent concerns in order to provide encouragement and support necessary for each family. WWA is extremely collaborative and emphasizes a team approach as every family is highly involved in the design and implementation of their behavioral services. John-Paul’s creative approach, extensive experience, positive enthusiasm, immense knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis, and great respect for this field are evident in the professional and personal touch he provides in overseeing all clinical treatments for WWA families.
