   Founded in 1847, Midway University provides a career-focused education grounded in the liberal arts for over 1900 students in traditional undergraduate programs as well as undergraduate and graduate programs for working adults offered in-seat and online. The main campus is located in Midway, Kentucky in the center of the Bluegrass Region and 15 miles outside Lexington. More than 120 acres of the 200-acre campus are dedicated to the institution’s equine program. Major accomplishments include the development of two strategic plans; a transition to university status to reflect expanding graduate programs and international partnerships; a rebranding effort including a new website; record enrollments in the daytime and graduate student populations; the addition of nine new majors, five new minors, two new graduate programs, a dual graduate degree, and six new graduate concentrations; a reduction in the student to faculty ratio; the transition to coeducation and the expansion of athletics; a campaign that funded the Hunter Field house, Tracy Farmer-Don Ball Stadium, the conversion of Pinkerton Hall to a residence hall, bathroom renovations in Belle Wisdom Residence Hall and Buster Residence Hall, and a new Welcome Center in a renovated Marrs Hall; the implementation of annual fundraisers; SACSCOC ten-year reaffirmation of accreditation without monitoring or recommendations; the refinancing of all long-term debt; and the safeguarding of resources to keep expenses in line with revenue.
