After a break from the surety industry, John transitioned to leading the Randolph Mountian Club. He joined its board of directors and, subsequently, its executive and strategic planning committees. He was later appointed President. Hiking, mountains, and outdoor life have been important to John throughout his life, irrespective of where he lived and worked. The pandemic proved to be a catalyst for John to become a year-round New Hampshire resident and follow his passion for the outdoors. Previously, John\'s 40+ years of surety-related experience led him to become an expert in all facets of that business with extensive success in North American, European, Asian, and Latin American surety markets, where he developed expertise in sales, underwriting, and operations. His experience also included domestic and international M&A activity, renewal rights transactions, and carrier and broker surety automation initiatives.

   The Randolph Mountain Club is a volunteer organization that maintains a network of nearly 102 miles of hiking trails, principally on the northern slopes of Mount Madison, Mount Adams, and Mount Jefferson in the Presidential range of the White Mountain National Forest and the Crescent Range in the town of Randolph, NH. It is a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization founded in 1910. It also maintains four mountain \"camps\" located on the north slopes of Mt. Adams in the White Mountain National Forest.
