I provide leadership for the Capital Projects department at the Detour Lake Mine on executing CAPEX projects including underground mine infrastructure, plant expansion for throughput increase, camp capacity expansion, Water and Waste Water Treatment upgrades, Air Field facility, haul road infrastructure upgrades for the expansion drive of the mine and other surface mine infrastructure facilities. I also bridge the gap between Cooperate and the Site for the execution of Capital Projects.• Leads and directs a diverse Project Management Team, ensuring all project staffing, deadlines and commitments are achieved, as well as ensuring timely communication of issues;• Ensures all project construction work is completed in a safe and timely manner while adhering to all company standards;• Ensures all corporate, site and project management standards are adhered to;• Leading the implementation of the Project Management Manual (PMM), cost control and cost saving initiatives; • Ensure project budgets, forecast and month end reporting are completed in an accurate and timely manner;• Liaises with site department managers to ensure consistent and timely communications;• Contribute strategically to develop solutions for corporate and site initiatives;• Ensure all project specific initiatives including budget, schedule and scope are adhered to;• Helps with the implementation and compliance to the Project Stage Gate process;• Ensures compliance with Supply Chain standards for all projects;• Take an active role in understanding project cost, schedule and scope variance reporting;• Ensure the proper setup of project purchase orders and timely payment of invoices;• Where appropriate, make recommendations to improve methods and/or efficiency;• Manage the preparation, distribution and monitoring of project correspondence within the company, and to contractors and consultants as required.
