Head of Civil Engineering providing group wide support for the delivering of civil engineering construction project from concept to delivery. Early engagement with all stakeholders to ensure clear vision of what is required and that it will function operationally. Value engineering, best available technology and materials at design stage, as well as ensuring the project is deliverable with in budget and timescales.Responsible for delivery and management of civil engineering capital construction projects within the Biffa Group portfolio including procurement, cost control, project management, liaison with Consultants, Contractors and RegulatorsSignificant involvement in Biffa’s two EfW projects, including procurement, EPC selection (both commercial and technical elements), from concept through to construction phase as part of the project company delivery team. Current role acting as Investor’s Engineer across both projects providing oversight and liaison within the Senior Leadership team.Detailed input into cost effective and innovative design with full awareness of CDM and incorporation thereof.Responsible for capital expenditure, 5 year capex planning and management of construction costs Projects include all major infrastructure/civil projects within the landfill waste area including cell and capping construction, leachate treatment plants, aggregate recycling facilities, soil treatment facilities, waste to rail projects including liaison and delivery in conjunction with Network Rail.
