John is a partner in PwC’s Governance Insights Center, and works with clients to help them strengthen the connection between directors, executive teams and investors by helping them navigate the evolving governance landscape. John leverages his over 35 years of experience to assist boards and management teams navigate the most pressing challenges in today’s business climate. His experience is multifaceted: •Leader of the PwC Midwest audit practice through SOX and PCAOB regulatory adoption. Discussed adoption, governance of SOX, PCAOB standards, and challenging accounting issues with boards and audit committees. •Managing partner for PwC Cybersecurity and Forensics practices advising clients on global cyber issues and trends, developed a global training academy, a 24 hour incident response business, and a Cyber Managed Services capability for PwC. •Managing partner for the PwC Risk and Internal Audit practice counseling boards on corporate governance and internal control matters. Discussed implications of control weaknesses, new accounting and auditing standards, and potential change in auditors. •Lead PwC partner on a number of large multinational client engagements, bringing clients deep functional expertise in mergers and acquisitions, internal controls, governance matters, and cyber business strategy. •Led the Chicago LBO/private equity practice for the PwC’s Deals practice with focus on due diligence and deal structuring. John is an active Director of the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Western Golf Association. John was the former Audit Committee Chair for the Lyric Opera of Chicago and served on the Executive Committee of the Morton Arboretum as Chair of the Finance Committee.
